Balloon ride on Oasis of the Seas?
Apparently there has been some speculation over a photo that surfaced of Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas with a tethered balloon of some sort attached to it as it undergoes it's sea trials. According to sources sited by cruisebusiness.com this is indeed a test of a proposed hot air style balloon ride that may be offered on the massive ship.
Passengers will be able to ride in a basket or gondola attached to the balloon as it is towed over 50 meters above the ship via a tether cable. When the ride is over, the cable allows the balloon to be pulled down to it's docking area. Royal Caribbean will not confirm this and insists it's just a test.
We will see.
